HISTORY

Zalaz was an alien humanoid hailing from an unidentified world of science and the occult located outside the Milky Way galaxy. He first came to the notice of the Guardians of the Universe when he stole the mythical Starheart. seeing the potential risk to the cosmos, Green Lanterns Hal Jordan and Alan Scott and Green Arrow were sent in pursuit.

Despite the powers at his command, Zalaz needed the aid of the Starheart to save his deathly ill queen, M'la. He did not wish to cause harm but his inherent nature prevented him from accepting help. Battling the three emerald heroes was using the Starheart's magical energies. To avoid eventual defeat and save his love, Zalaz sacrificed his life, unlocking the power of the Starheart to transfer life into M'la's form.

As Zalaz exhibited powers derived from the usage of the Starheart, it is not known if he had any powers of his own though he had the resources of his science / occult planet.
