HISTORY

Located in Space Sector 3599, the planet Xabas became a primary target for the race known as the Keepers. Rather than seeking traditional conquest or territorial expansion, the Keepers launched a campaign to exploit the indigenous sentient species. The citizens of Xabas possessed a unique respiratory physiology that exhales a chemical byproduct which could create a livable atmosphere on the Keepers' homeworld Urak. Portals created by the Keepers would suction their quarry back to Urak.

Despite the intervention of the Green Lantern Corps, the initial efforts to protect the indigenous population of Xabas proved insufficient. Facing mounting casualties and the total depletion of their power reserves, the Corps was eventually forced to execute a tactical withdrawal from the planet.

It is not known if the Keepers continued their actions on Xabas nor the full extent. Presumably after the Keepers' defeat the Green Lanterns assisted in repatriating any of the captured Xabas natives and aid in reconstruction.
