This template prints a short phrase linking to the character's **next** chronological appearance.
Syntax
- Basic (same title)
- {{next}} = next in immediately following issue of same title
- Specific issue (same title)
- {{next|5}} = next in specific issue of same title
- With story
- {{next|5/2}} = next in specific issue and story of same title
- With story / page
- {{next|5/2(pg3)}} = next in specific issue, story and page of same title
- With story / page / panel
- {{next|5/2(pg3pan2)}} = next in specific issue, story, page and panel of same title
- Behind the scenes
- {{next|5(bts)}} = next appearance was "behind the scenes" in specific issue of same title
- Flashback
- {{next|5(fb)}} = next in flashback in specific issue of same title
- Combinations (put ";" in between qualifiers)
- {{next|5(fb;pg3pan2)}} = next in flashback in specific issue, story, page and panel of same title
- Other title (always include “#” for numbered books)
- {{next|Superman Vol. 2 #4}} = next in specific issue of a different title
- Non-numbered title (GN/non-numbered one-shot)
- {{next|Superman: For Earth}} = next in a different non-numbered title
- Role
- {{next|5|role=Robin}} = next appearance was in a different identity/role in specific issue of same title

- All examples use Superman Vol. 2 #10 as baseline, meaning this is the result you'd get if you entered the below values in that issue.
