HISTORY
Slyggia is a technologically advanced planet located within Space Sector 1418, recognized across the cosmos as the homeworld of the sentient reptilian Slyggian species and its most prominent representative, veteran Green Lantern administrator Salaak.[1] A more notorious representative is the anarchist Smithwick of the Sinestro Corps who who has vowed to find and kill his fellow Slyggian.[2]
Little is known of Slyggia itself as it is relatively unremarkable in broader interstellar events. Its involvement in the greater cosmos occurred when Slyggia was caught in the crossfire between the New Gods. An ancient Eschaton Golem arrived hunting the New God Orion who had been critically injured in a prior battle.[3] The resulting clash between the Golem and Green Lantern Hal Jordan inflicted massive damage on a Slyggian city, a crisis that only concluded after defenders successfully faked Orion's death to convince the Golem its mission was complete. The Golem then departed Slyggia.
Slyggia's foremost xenobiologist, Doctor Thaava was crucial to saving Orion's life with the assistance of Green Lantern Kyle Rayner and accompanied the Lanterns and her patient to Oa.[4]
