HISTORY
Sector General is a massive hospital station orbiting the planet Hippocrates.[1] The labyrinthine station is notoriously difficult to navigate, with specialized wings featuring 1200 wards. To accommodate the vast medical needs of both biological and non-biological entities, these environments are individually tailored to sustain a diverse range of alien physiologies. As of this writing, only two staff members have been named, Dr. Kel-Dar and Nurse Leylo Olaqua. Medical care included the use of surgi-mechs and nano-surgeons Information regarding its construction and management has not been revealed.[2]
Despite its sanctuary status, the hospital was targeted in a devastating assault by the Anti-Matter Lanterns. The siege resulted in the deaths of several Green Lanterns and Dr. Kel-Dar, leaving the station on the brink of total collapse.[3]
COMMENTS
The DCU's Sector General is a tribute to the classic science fiction series by Northern Irish author James White. Sector General spanned twelve novels and numerous short stories published between 1957 and 1999.
