HISTORY

The Prism Beasts were a semi-sentient swarm of large, insect-like entities composed entirely of crystallized willpower. Though they manifested as physical threats in the present era, their origins were rooted in a temporal anomaly.

The Beasts were first encountered on Planet 563.287 by Green Lantern Gorin-Sunn and Space Ape of the Sinestro Corps as they investigated a temporal anomaly on that world. Decades prior, Hal Jordan had utilized Krona’s Power Gauntlet unknowingly imprinting the spark of thought on the gauntlet which over time developed into a consciousness entirely of will.

This phenomenon was discovered by Sarko, the future son of Kyle Rayner and Soranik Natu. Traveling back from a future where the Sinestro Corps had been absorbed into the Green Lantern Corps, Sarko harnessed the gauntlet’s energy as a weapon to preserve the Sinestro Corps' legacy.

Sarko unleashed a swarm of Prism Beasts upon Mogo, which at the time served as the joint headquarters for both the Green Lanterns and Sinestro Corps. The Beasts proved impervious to the power rings. The Lanterns were forced to abandon their primary weapons and engage the swarm using physical armaments and hand-to-hand combat.

when Hal Jordan returned to Planet 563.287. The Power Gauntlet manifested a full humanoid body to engage Jordan in single combat. The battle concluded when Jordan successfully shattered the gauntlet, releasing a massive burst of energy, mortally wounding Sarko. Upon his death the Prism Beasts faded away completely.
