Synopsis: - Black Canary has asked J'onn, the Martian Manhunter, to help in a training session for the new JSA. As a favor for his old Justice League team-mate, he agrees, but the training session goes slightly awry when it becomes clear that the new Star-Spangled Kid still has an awful lot to learn. She storms off, at which point the heroes hear sounds of a struggle from outside. They discover a number of parademons, and find Star-Spangled Kid's body seemingly devoid of a mind. J'onn probes her residual memories and discovers that Kanto the Assassin, one of Darkseid's most favored servants, is behind this. He and the JSA then travel to Apokolips to save her, where J'onn has the team allow themselves to be captured.
