Synopsis: - The trial of Shadow Thief has officially begun, four weeks after he was captured. The media are naturally very interested, not least because the prosecution has called some very high-profile witnesses, including Hawkman and Superman, although the defense does a good job of undermining their credibility. Elsewhere, the first Manhunter, Dan Richards, is attacked and killed by a shadowy figure. Later, as Kate is about to drive away from the courthouse, she realizes that her car is wired to explode and thus throws herself clear. At the same time, Shadow Thief's guards are attacked by the deadly assassin Cheshire.
