HISTORY
The Indigo Tribe Central Power Battery was constructed on the planet Nok by Natromo, a native of that world, and Abin Sur, the Green Lantern of Ungara. The battery was hidden within the depths of Nok and harnessed the emotion of compassion to power the rings of the Indigo Tribe. Natromo forged rings while Abin Sur brought the worst of the universe to Nok to be inducted into the Indigo Tribe.
Years later, Green Lantern Hal Jordan of Earth arrived on Nok, and Natromo told him of the history and Abin Sur's plan to use the Indigo rings to change the Guardians of the Universe. Abin Sur had learned of the prophecy of the Blackest Night, and following that the end of the Corps and the hand soft the Guardians. Learning Abin Sur had died, Natromo destroyed the Central Power Battery, believing without Abin Sur their efforts were futile.[1]
Jordan convinced Natromo all was not lost and Natromo attempted but failed to recreated the Central Power Battery. It would take weeks to gather the light needed. It was the true compassion of Indigo-1 that supplied the spark which enabled Natromo to restore the battery and the Indigo Tribe.[2]
Later events involving the United Planets saw the destruction of the Central Power Batteries for all factions of the emotional spectrum. Presumably, the Indigo battery was located and destroyed. This created fractures in the spectrum which required new Central Power Batteries to be constructed on Oa.[3]
The batteries came online during an attack by the Starbreaker Corps.[4] The Strbreakers saw to their own defeat as the pull of the emotions drew them into the Central Power Batteries, ending their threat.[5]
