HISTORY
To usher in the "Red Dawn" Atrocitus sent Bleez of the Red Lantern Corps to establish a Hell Tower on Earth. The site of the Hell Tower was in Yuma County in Arizona. The method of its creation has not been revealed, though from evidence at the scene appeared to involve blood sacrifices. A rage-crazed local resident guarded the Tower until the arrival of Green Lanterns Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz.[1]
The Rage Tower would grow, burrowing deep into the Earth where the Rage Seed would be planted. The apparent death of the Rage Entity, Butcher, required a new avatar. Ysmault would be left behind for a new home. On Earth, rage spread like an infection.[2]
Deeper and deeper the Hell Tower burrowed until it reached Earth's core. As the Red Lanterns protected the Tower, Dex-Starr was given the Rage Seed to planet.[3]Though the Green Lanterns were ultimately able to destroy the Hell Tower, thinking their job was done, they did not know the seed had been planted and at the Earth's core a new Rage Entity was growing. [4]
