HISTORY

Gridlock is an intergalactic criminal and one of the seven high-risk prisoners that escaped Sciencell Sector Black. He was the second to be encountered by Green Lantern Kyle Rayner. His actual name is a series of symbols, undoubtedly unpronounceable to most sentients. By Gridlock's own account, he had once melted the core of a planet killing everyone that lived there. During the subsequent attempt to apprehend him, he managed to kill eight of the ten Green Lanterns sent after him before finally being subdued and incarcerated in the high-security Sciencells of Sector Black.

Arriving on Earth, the escapees went to ground, Gridlock however went on a rampage on Los Angeles. He demanded the world's government supply him with a ship to facilitate his departure from the planet or he threatened to burn Earth's core and mirror his previous planetary genocide if his demands were not met.

The crisis was averted by Kyle Rayner, who engaged the fugitive and successfully neutralized him before he could execute his threat.

POWERS AND WEAPONS

Gridlock's notable power is trans-absorption, enabling him to pull metals, energy, elements into his body to repurpose as weapons. He can also fire focused energy blasts from his eyes. Based on observation, Gridlock has super strength and a high resistance to damage.
