HISTORY

Chall'enn was recognized as a world of peace and prosperity. While further records are limited, the planet's advanced infrastructure suggests a technological level exceeding modern-day Earth, with a populace accustomed to interstellar visitors.

The serenity was shattered when the Sinestro Corps descended upon the world. The Yellow Lanterns' directive was to cull the strongest of the Chall'enn race to feed Sinestro's Fear Engine, a specialized device designed to amplify the Corps' influence across the emotional spectrum.

The conflict escalated when Green Lantern Hal Jordan pursued the Sinestro Corps members Maash and Slushh from the planet Joween the Chall'enn's surface. Despite the odds, Jordan initially held his own against a dozen enemy combatants.

However, the tide turned as the Sinestro Corps successfully stoked a wave of terror across the universe. This collective fear served as a massive power boost, doubling the strength of the yellow rings. Overwhelmed by the surge in enemy power and the arrival of reinforcements, Jordan was defeated and captured. Alongside the abducted Chall'enn, he was scheduled for transport to Sinestro to be fed into the Fear Engine.
