HISTORY

Bloobert Cob of Sector 74 was one of several Green Lanterns summoned to Oa to attend funeral services for fellow Lantern Hal Jordan of Earth. Fortunately, it was later revealed that Jordan had been pulled back from the brink of death.[1]

imprisoned on Corona Seven

While the specific details of Cob’s mid-career adventures remain undocumented, it is highly probable that he stood alongside his comrades during the first threat of Nekron and Krona, the Crisis, and the eventual collapse of the Central Power Battery following the execution of Sinestro. Throughout these cycles of the Corps falling and returning, Cob remained a steadfast presence within the organization.

In recent years, the Durlans orchestrated a massive, multi-world conspiracy designed to dismantle the Green Lantern Corps from within. The shape shifting Durlans captured numerous Lanterns, mimicking them well enough to fool their very power rings. Bloobert Cob was one of the many Lanterns targeted, stripped of their rings and imprisoned in a high-security facility on Corona Seven.

The prisoners on Corona Seven were placed under the guard of the vicious Khunds, who began a systematic execution of the defenseless Green Lanterns. The Khunds opened fire on Cob while he was still confined to his cell. Moments later, a prison break was initiated by fellow Lanterns Ghr'll and Xylpth from an adjacent cell, leading to the liberation of the surviving captives.[2]

As the Durlan impostors were exposed across the stars, the power rings sought out their original owners.[3] Tragically, Cob’s ring arrived at Corona Seven too late to save him. Finding its bearer deceased, the ring circled, performing a final scan before departing to find a replacement within Sector 74.

Though Green Lantern Sendrina of neighboring Sector 73 did not know Bloobert Cob by name, she witnessed the aftermath of the tragedy and swore he would be avenged.[4]
