HISTORY
According to Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern of Sector 2814, the Azakarians are a notorious alien race of thieves and killers. They traveled to Earth in pursuit of a set of power rings that they had previously stolen from unknown origins, only to have the artifacts stolen from them in turn.
Previously separated, a singular ring had since been formed by the fusion of a Black Lantern ring and a Red Lantern ring. This hybrid ring was being worn by Harley Quinn. The Azakarians plotted to retrieve the ring by making Harley a false offer, intending to murder her and destroy the Earth immediately afterward. Although the ring warned Harley of the impending treachery, an Azakarian managed to stun her and seize the ring before she could act.
Hal Jordan intervened to rescue Harley, but he was quickly incapacitated by an Azakarian weapon, forcing Harley to spring into action to save the Green Lantern. Utilizing Jordan's own power ring, Harley destroyed the Azakarian ship and, presumably, the stolen hybrid ring along with it. No Azakarians have been seen since this encounter.[1]
