The surviving members of the Justice Society - Sentinel, Flash, Wildcat and Hippolyta (the Golden Age Wonder Woman) - learn of the Sandman's death, and gather those heroes related to the Society for his funeral: the Star-Spangled Kid and Starman, the android Hourman, Nuklon (now going by the name of Atom Smasher) and Black Canary. Meanwhile, Kendra Saunders dons the wings of Hawkgirl for the first time, and Sanderson Hawkins awakes from an unusually disturbed sleep.
