OVERVIEW

Vanadia was a young woman who dreamed of joining the Titans but died after undergoing a failed experiment to gain superpowers. Her brain was placed in an android body by Professor Morrow, who manipulated her into attacking the Titans. After regaining her free will, she joined the team but became increasingly detached and later defected to Deathstroke’s Crime Syndicate before ultimately finding redemption.

HISTORY

From childhood, Vanessa dreamed of becoming a superhero and joining the Titans. After years of intense training, she became the vigilante Vanadia at eighteen, determined to prove herself. When S.T.A.R. Labs posted a call for physically active volunteers for something called the Post-Human Project, she signed up. Professor Morrow, who oversaw the project, injected her with experimental drugs that granted her super-strength and speed, but fatally damaged her heart.

Morrow preserved her brain and later placed it in an android body built from Amazo technology, programming her to believe the Titans were impostors. Vanadia attacked the team but was eventually freed from Morrow's control, only to be destroyed by Dark Raven. Rebuilt by Cyborg, she joined the Titans, but grew increasingly detached from humanity and began spying on her teammates.

Manipulated by Terra, Vanadia defected to Deathstroke's Crime Syndicate but was ultimately redeemed when Cyborg's act of trust convinced her to turn on the Syndicate and aid the Titans once more. Following the Syndicate's defeat, Vanadia left Earth to seek out the race of sentient computer beings known as the Technis, which she had learned of from data she had downloaded from Cyborg’s memory files.
