History

  The personal bodyguard of Gotham City mob boss Lew Moxon, Zeiss had trained for years to be able to combat Gotham's protector, Batman. A key part of his armoury was a pair of vision-enhancing lenses, but his strength and combat skills are also formidable. He failed his master once, shortly after arriving in Gotham, by allowing the mercenary Deadshot to leave Moxon critically injured while Zeiss was distracted by a fight with Batman. He was ultimately defeated by Batman when the hero refused to make it a completely personal battle, bringing in help from Batgirl, whose technique Zeiss was entirely unfamiliar with. Zeiss is currently incarcerated.
