History
Named after (or rather, before) the world-tree in Norse mythology, Yggdrasil the Tree of Knowledge was the first Earth Elemental who walked the Earth circa 3.3 billion years ago. Actually, it was created by a much later Earth Elemental - the 20th century Swamp Thing (Alec Holland), who had traveled back in time to establish the power of the Green. Later in its existence, Yggdrasil was one of the founders of the Parliament of Trees. Yggdrasil was recently destroyed with the rest of the Parliament by the Word, a Heavenly Avenger.
