History

The legendary Wandering Jew is variously known as Josephus, Ahasverus, and Botodeo. One legend describes him as a Jewish shoemaker who refused to let Jesus take a rest on his doorstep on the way to Golgatha. There are other versions as well. In either case, the Jew was doomed to live and forever wander the Earth until the Second Coming. In the 9th century, he repeatedly encountered Arak Red-Hand. Some believe him to be identical with the Phantom Stranger, but that has never been confirmed.
