History

Sgt. Vincent Velcro avoided a 30-year sentence by volunteering for the American "Project M" during World War II. For six months, Velcro was injected with a compound composed of the blood extracted from the New Mexican vampire bat, until he was able to transform into a bat himself, needing human blood to survive. Velcro became part of the original Creature Commandos - a war unit whose members all resembled archetypical monsters. The team fought bravely through the war, until 1945, when they were court-martialled for some unstated offence and volunteered to test-fly an experimental spacecraft rather than face execution. The rocket malfunctioned and was lost somewhere in deep space. However, Velcro was recently shown having survived his space trip and now works as a consultant at S.T.A.R. Labs.

His connection (if any) to the Vincent Velcro of the second Creature Commandos team is not known.
