  Michael Carter is the nephew (or possibly grand-nephew) of Greg Saunders, a.k.a. Vigilante I. Trained by his uncle, Carter has assumed the masked identity of Swashbuckler, fighting crime in his home area of Houston. Swashbuckler has not been seen for several years, but once helped Batman thwart the evil schemes of the Riddler.
