History
Victor Gover was the Gotham City Wildcats' best draft pick in years, but became ineligible when he tested positive for steriods, as well as the meta-gene. Now, unable to use a lucrative football contract to get his parents out of the slums of Gotham, Gover then tried to take revenge on Arthur Brackett and Tom Melcher, the coach and owner of the Wildcats. Gover adopted the identity of the new Sportsmaster, and ended up facing off against Batman and Manhunter (Mark Shaw). Batman stopped him while teaching Mark Shaw who was really in charge in Gotham, but he did let Mark turn Sportsmaster in. Victor was then recruited for a special team, that of Amanda Waller's Suicide Squad, formed at Black Adam's request to attack Circe's island during the War of the Gods. He survived this assault, and perhaps rethought a life of crime.
