History
Xavier Purvis was a failed artist who can absorb energy and use it to shape metal. The problem was that his power was limited to only a few ounces at a time. He studied metallurgy and molecular physics, which enabled him to create a suit that allowed him to better absorb energy and got control over larger amounts of metal. He was stopped by Firestorm when he overloaded Purvis' suit with too much energy, destroying the suit. Firestorm then turned him over to the authorities.
