  About ten years ago, when the universe were threatened by Agamemno and the Injustice League (I), seven Earth heroes banded together to battle the villains on the planet Rann. The members of the team included: Deadman, Adam Strange, Batgirl (I), Metamorpho, Mento, Blackhawk, and Gardner Grayle, who donned the armor and identity of the Shining Knight (II). Although initially defeating the Injustice League, the new Seven Soldiers were unable to stop them from constructing a super-weapon, and in the end, it was the Justice League of America who thwarted their plans. It is not known whether the new Seven Soldiers ever returned as a team.
