  This ageless group of men have committed themselves to the mystic arts and reside in a Citadel in the Orient. In 1899, the Seven saved the infant Doctor Occult and Rose Psychic from the evil Koth, then let their disciple Zator raise them as his pupils. With strict discipline, Zator educated the children in the art of magic. It is known that Doc and Rose were attracted to each other early in their lives, but that the Seven condemned any amorous realationship between the two of them. On adulthodd, Occult was given the Seven's powerful Symbol, before he and Rose left for the outside world, hoping to fulfill the mission they had been prepared for. In 1936, Koth returned from his realm, almost overpowering the Seven. The Seven then endowned Occult with a magic sword and a battle costume, and with combined forces, Doc, Zator and the Seven defeated Koth for many years forward.
