History
Carmine Falcone, alias "the Roman" was the most prominent member of the Gotham City Mafia at the time Batman appeared on the scene, and became Batman's and Commissioner Gordon's first major bust. He was the father of Sofia Falcone Gigante, the brother of Carla Viti, and the uncle of Johnny Viti. The Roman was possibly killed by Two-Face.
[Note: The truth of the Roman's alleged death depends on whether the events of "The Long Halloween" and "Dark Victory" are part of main continuity or not, still under debate.]
