History

  An ancient and highly advanced race that had never had to worry about mortality, the beings called the Quantum Mechanics realized that they were finally dying. Having no religion, no faith and no concept of an afterlife, the Mechanics "kidnapped" hundreds of worlds (including Earth) to study the inhabitants' beliefs in the hereafter, and, with the "blueprints" in hand, be able to build their own Heaven. With the support of the JLA, the Quantum Mechanics actually succeeded - by accepting their destiny and moving on to their next plane of existence.
