  Claudio Tielli is a young boy with flame powers who took the identity of Pyrogen to joine Lex Luthor's "Supermen of America", an organization allegedly designed to embody Superman's principles. (In truth, Luthor sought a way to use the movement to replace Superman.) Pyrogen soon became part of their core group, the meta-human Elite Brigade (a.k.a. the Mets) led by Outburst. The team has since grown to stand on its own and is no longer promoted by Luthor. The Elite Brigade of the Supermen of America still seeks to uphold the ideals of Superman and the heroes have distinguished themselves in battle against such threats as the Warlords of Okaara and the Unimaginable. They were last seen siding with Young Justice and their allies, fighting the super-villain army of Agua Sin Gaaz in the Republic of Zandia.
