History

Physicist Simon Jones devoted his scientific life to reaching out to other dimensions. During an experiment, he was struck by a beam of light cast by the demonic Trigon. The beam transformed Jones into a creature of great telepathic and telekinetic power - Psimon, who was charged by Trigon with the mission to destroy Earth. As a means to do that, Psimon joined the newly formed team of super-villains called the Fearsome Five, and battled the New Teen Titans on several occasions. Trigon soon grew impatient with Psimon, and banished him to another dimension from which he was eventually freed. During the world-shattering Crisis, Psimon was seemingly killed by other super-villains, whom he had attempted to betray, but eventually resurfaced again, more powerful than ever. He singlehandedly destroyed several planets in his path, and then set his sight on Earth for revenge. After killing or injuring several of his old Fearsome Five teammates, he attacked and tortured the New Titans. Only with the intervention of Mirage and Jarras Minion were they able to defeat Psimon, who was placed in the custody of the Darkstars. Since then, Psimon's powers have apparently diminished. He was last seen in the Slab prison during the Joker's "Last Laugh" riots.
