First Appearance: New Year's Evil: Prometheus #1 (1998)

HISTORY

If we are to believe Prometheus' own story of his origin, he was the son of a "Bonnie & Clyde"-like couple of parents, travelling with them on a crime spree through America until they were killed by the police. His hair turned white from the experience, the boy dedicated his life to oppose the forces of justice. At the age of 16, he traveled to the legendary city of Shamballa where he was trained by monks and gained possession of the so-called Cosmic Key that gave him access to the Ghost Zone. In short time, the man had built a high-tech armor and weapons arsenal with which he could download the fighting techniques of the world's foremost martial artists - including the Batman - into his own neural system. As Prometheus, he infiltrated the JLA Watchtower and took out most of the team before being defeated by their wild card - Catwoman and her primitive bull-whip. Escaping, Prometheus later returned as a member of Lex Luthor's Injustice Gang during the Mageddon War. Once again, he defeated several Justice Leaguers before being outsmarted by Batman. The Huntress then tried to execute the villain, but Batman halted her. Prometheus was taken into custody, but soon escaped and became Hush's henchman before being stolen away by Talia and the villainous Society.
