History

  Doc Magnus once created a "counterpart team" for the real Metal Men - female versions of Gold, Mercury, Lead, and Iron, and a Platinum Man for Tina. As several other "secondary Metal Men" teams, this one proved to be a failure. The couples argued all the time, and the new counterparts were eventually destroyed in a volcanic eruption while fighting an invasion of Robot Amazons. Years later, Platinum Man reappeared on his own as a villain while the Metal Man and Batman were seeking for the missing Nameless robot. The Platinum Man was ultimately destroyed.
