  A multi-millionaire who funded the Justice League International and guided it as it gained support from the United Nations. When invading aliens set off a bomb which messed with the super-power-causing metagene, Lord was one of those affected, coming out of the experience with the ability to persuade people to do what he wanted them to do, though use of the power gave him a nosebleed.

  Some time after the dissolution of the JLI, Lord died from cancer and his consciousness, or rather a warped portion thereof, took over the robotic body of Lord Havoc and caused chaos for a while. He seems now to have recovered from this bizarre state of affairs.
