History

  Martha Clark grew up in Smallville, marrying farmer's son Jonathan Kent. The two of them set up their own farm, and came to adopt an alien child, whom they named Clark, and raised as if their own. Martha has supported her son over the years, and designed the costume he wears as Superman, also having acted as a surrogate mother for others such as Supergirl.
