HistoryFor some reason, whenever the Liberty Bell was rung in Philadelphia, Libby Lawrence gained a rush of adrenalin, giving her enhanced strength and reflexes. As a heroine, she became the leader of the All-Star Squadron in wartime America, later gaining the ability to emit sound waves from her body. After the war she married fellow hero Johnny Quick and bore a child, who would become the heroine Jesse Quick, before their divorce. Libby is now truly retired as a hero and is somewhat disapproving of her daughter's heroic activities. A further rift developed between the two women when Libby discovered that her fiance was only interested in her money and was having a relationship with Jesse at the same time.
