History

  Joan met and fell in love with the young Jay Garrick, discovering before their marriage that he was the original Flash. The two have remained in love, and faithfully so, for many years, even with Jay's disappearance for some time when the JSA were taken away to prevent the coming of Ragnarok. One of her greatest regrets in life is that she and Jay have never had the opportunity to raise a child of their own, but Joan has acted as a surrogate mother to many, including Wally West, Bart Allen and Jakeem Williams.
