  Philbert Hoskins had been interested in astronomy, since he was a child. One night, he saw a meteor crash near his house. He found it, and the strange meteor transformed him into a walking pile of sludge with an uncontrollable appetite. Unable to feed him, Philbert's mother sent him to a government base in New Mexico, where he met three other misfits, named Screamqueen, Slither, and Fang. These four escaped from the base, and formed a band, named Scare Tactics. He was named Grossout, and played drums for the band. After many adventures together, Grossout killed the violent Slither, and morphed into a creature with miraculous powers. He flew into the stars, and has not been seen since.
