First Appearance: Superman Vol. 1 #248 (February 1972)

HISTORY

  At the center of the universe, Lex Luthor created a monster from space dust floating around and radiation. To remain alive, the Golem needed to destroy anything containing this special radiation. Lex Luthor secretly injected Superman with it causing the Galactic Golem to come to Earth. After a fight with Superman, the Golem attacked Luthor, causing him to ban the Golem into outer space. The Galactic Golem returned to Earth and fought Superman at the Fortress of Solitude. During this fight, Superman dumped molten steel on the monster. This steel hardened and the magnetic monster could not fight the magnetic pull.
