  'The Eye of Ra' originally referred to the ancient Egyptian feline goddesses Sekhmet and Bast, the instruments of Ra's revenge. It was also the name of an ancient weapon shaped like a stylized Egyptian eye, capable of emitting powerful energy blasts. In modern times, Blue Beetle I encountered this weapon, then called The Eye of Horus, and defeated it by speaking its true name - The Eye of Ra. Later still, the Eye of Ra was excavated from an ancient pyramid by Helen Rock, the reincarnation of Hawkman's eternal enemy Hath-Set, and used against Infinity Inc.
