  One of the world's top hitmen who is not only a master of the killing arts, but of subterfuge and subtlety, planning his hits with incredible care. He is the adoptive father of the current Batgirl, having trained her from a young age to follow in his footsteps, a path she chose not to follow. Recently, David Cain was employed by Lex Luthor to discredit Bruce Wayne, which he did by framing the man for the murder of Vesper Fairchild. In his alter ego as Batman, Wayne managed to discover this and Cain is now in prison for his crime, though he refuses to divulge the name of the man who hired him.
