History

  A United States government initiative masterminded by Wade Eiling and Heinrich Megala, with the aim of creating a super-hero answerable to the military, using a combination of nuclear physics and a strange synthetic metal. They had two 'successes': Captain Atom, who eventually rebelled against the government to become his own man and Major Force, an uncontrollable psychopath.
