Overview
Billy Beezer was a tough young punk who proudly and effectively led the Deviants, a gang of young miscreants. However, his fortunes changed almost literally overnight when he crossed paths with Klarion Bleak, and he ended up as a slave on Mars.
Not much is known about Billy Beezer's early life. He mentioned growing up in a house, but since he was living at the hostel run by Mr. Melmoth, it is presumed that he was orphaned at an early age. Whatever the circumstances of his upbringing, by his teens Billy had joined with the Deviants, a gang of miscreants who took their orders from the sinister Mr. Melmoth. His work pleased Melmoth, and when the former leader Golden Boy was promoted to the mysterious Team Red, Billy took his place.
Later, on the eve of Billy's 16th birthday (upon which he would become eligible to join Team Red), Melmoth introduced Klarion Bleak and his cat Teekl into the Deviants. Billy took an immediate disliking to his new teammate, viewing him as weak and puny, even though Klarion's ability to use Teekl for scouting proved useful in helping the Deviants steal a sapper drill from the Museum of Superheroes. After that mission's success made Klarion a possible successor to leadership of the group, Melmoth manipulated Billy into attacking Klarion, who stopped him with the threat of a death curse. Billy's jealousy caused the other Deviants to turn against him, humiliating him in his last hours as Deviant leader.
At midnight of that night, Billy turned 16. He woke up and wandered the hall, stumbling upon an Erdel gate from which emerged Goldenboy, the former Deviant leader. Goldenboy tried to tell Billy the truth about Team Red, but died in the process. Billy was then caught by Melmoth, who revealed that "Team Red" was in fact slavery in a gold mine on Mars. Klarion, meanwhile, having been alerted to all this by Teekl, warned the other Deviants and then left them to their fate.
Some time later, Melmoth came to the mines on Mars in order to show them to busniess associates. Burned and disfigured from his failed attack on Klarion's home, Melmoth was attacked by the monster Frankenstein. Melmoth nearly defeated his undead opponent with a Grundy Brand, but Billy Beezer, seeing an opportunity for revenge, attacked him, causing him to drop the brand. Melmoth was subsequently fed to Frankenstein's Martian horse.
As a result of Melmoth's death (or possibly incapacitation, since Melmoth is supposedly immortal), Billy was liberated along with all the other slaves in the mine, and was informed by Frankenstein that his friends were waiting for his return. His present status is unknown, but presumably, he's returned to Manhatten and resumed his role as leader of the Deviants.
Billy Beezer has no powers, but he is tough and has a knack for organizing public disturbances, approaching the business of making trouble "as an art form."
