History

  On the planet Thanagar, many conquered and enslaved races were kept under horrible conditions in the planet's so-called Downside. Among them were many denizens from the planet Aza.

  In recent years, a spiritual-metallic Voyager unit from Aza was discovered on Earth by a man named George Crystal. Crystal allowed his own spirit to inhabit the humanoid construct. Calling himself Attila, he vowed to avenge the decimation of the alien race by the Thanagarians. However, the deeply religious Crystal soon found himself at odds with the Voyager's directive to kill Thanagarians and, confronted by Hawkman (III) and Hawkwoman (II), Crystal expelled his spirit from Attila, leaving it behind for the authorities.
