History

  Gotham City's mayor for some time, Armand Krol was elected on a law and order platform and yet was distinctly unpopular with the city's police department. He was openly hostile towards Commissioner James Gordon from the start, and once his life was saved by Batman, decided to promote vigilantism almost ahead of the G.C.P.D. In a particularly unpleasant move, he temporarily relieved Gordon of his job, replacing him with his wife, Sarah Essen-Gordon. Mayor Krol finally died of the Clench virus.
