HISTORY

  Fortune started out as the leader of a gang of juveniles that committed petty crimes in their neighborhood; his friends called him "Pudge" because of his weight. As an adult, he studied luck in all its forms until he discovered that the human body has "luck glands" that control how a person's luck will run from day to day, and how to manipulate those glands to make someone have either consistent bad luck or consistent good luck. Using these discoveries, he became a master criminal and fought the Justice League several times. At one point he got his old gang back together and formed the Royal Flush Gang with them; however, after two failed battles with the JLA and one where they were outsmarted by the Joker, Fortune disbanded this version of the Royal Flushers and went back to his solo pursuits.
