PERSONAL DATA First Appearance: Steel #1 (February 1994)

  A military industrial firm who recruited the young engineer John Henry Irons to work for them. Irons built a laser weapon for Amertek, but was distraught when he learned it had been used in a foreign war. He destroyed all his notes and quit the corporation, making him a target for elimination by Amertek. When Irons later designed a flying armour (the prototype of the Steel armour), Armertek stole the blueprints and used it to create super-powered soldiers on their own. John Henry would later develop an advanced version of the armour to become the superhero Steel (III). Steel battled Amertek's agents on several occasions. Amertek was also affiliated with Rainforest Technologies and its leader, the supervillain Hazard (II).
