History

  A government agency founded by Amanda Waller to serve as a branch of Task Force X (I) under the command of Valentina Vostok (the former Negative Woman). It performed global operations of importance to American security. Operatives included the Vigilante (II), Peacemaker (I) and Black Thorn. Later, Vostok brought former Police Lieutenant Harry Stein into the Agency to oversee the activities. Stein soon replaced Vostok in the Agency's command position, eventually disbanding the organisation and substituting it with an evolved version – Checkmate!
