  Born in Austria in 1889, Hitler attempted a career as an artist but failed miserably. Instead, he enlisted in the German Army during World War I. In 1919, he joined what would become the National-Socialistic Party of Germany, and by 1921, he was its leader. Hitler proved to possess a rare charisma and talent of manipulating the masses. During the Depression, he was known as Germany's 'strong man', and in 1935, he was appointed Reichskanzler. As Germany's führer, Hitler attempted to make true his vision of the Third Reich where the 'Aryan' Germans would rule. His tactical skills and cruel boldness gave Germany great victories as they invaded most of Europe during the German Expansion and the second World War. Hitler's terror culminated during the Holocaust when he systematically exterminated six million Jews (but also thousands of Gypsies, Communists, and homosexuals) which he considered a 'lower race'. Hitler had several confidants as mad and power hungry as himself – among them, Hermann Göring, Joseph Goebbels, Heinrich Himmler, and Anton Arcane. His operatives included the Iron Major, Vandal Savage, Killer Shark, and the super-agents of Axis Amerika. Even Enemy Ace, the legendary World War I pilot, reluctantly joined Hitler's ranks. Hitler was interested in the occult and managed to obtain the fabled Spear of Destiny, the power of which prevented any American super-heroes from reaching the War Zone.

  The War eventually turned against Hitler. When Soviet troops reached Berlin in 1945, he committed suicide together with his mistress, Eva Braun. (Some sources claim that he was killed by an American agent such as the Unknown Soldier or Mr. America, but there is no evidence to support these rumours.)
