History

The Dark Lord is a being who, according to Hourman, has no beginning and no end. His systematic campaign to murder various agents of both Order and Chaos and to gain control of the power of Dr Fate was discovered by Wesley Dodds, the original Sandman, who put the Justice Society and Scarab onto the case, killing himself to prevent Mordru from gaining the knowledge he needed about the reincarnation of Fate. After killing Kestrel, Fate and Kid Eternity, Mordru kidnapped the Fate child from under the noses of the Justice Society. However, in attempting to seize contol of the power Dr Fate weild, he was defeated by Scarab, the Star-Spangled Kid and the former Dr Fate - Kent Nelson, who, with the new Dr Fate, trapped Mordru within Fate's amulet. It has since transpired that during his campaign against the new Fate, he used various enchantments to hide the latter's wife, Lyta Hall, from him, ensuring that if he ever gets out, Fate will hunt him down...

By the thirtieth century, Mordru will have escaped, and will be a thorn in the side of the Legion of Super-Heroes.
