Dalor of Timron was Tomar-Re's successor to Space Sector 2813. It seemed Dalor was serving his sector well, as exampled by saving the Aquoids of Beltair IV and Femazons of Trigus VIII. As part of his homeworld's customs, Dalor was given a reward for his heroism.

He came into conflict with Hal Jordan when the Green Lantern of Earth crossed into Sector 2813, to save the inhabitants of a planet suffering volcanic disruptions. After saving the natives, Jordan was shocked to discover they were offering him a bounty for his heroic deeds.

When Dalor arrived, Jordan tried to explain his outrage to his fellow Green Lantern. An emergency back on the volcanic world ended their discussion, but Dalor had been insulted by Jordan and caged him with his power ring.

Jordan arrived back on the planet, only to discover Dalor had blindly flown in, and been overcome by yellow sulfuric gases. Although Jordan cleared the poisonous gas, he was too late, for the natives' elderly chieftain who died. Dalor expressed his regret, which Jordan felt was misplaced because Dalor could have saved the chieftain. He struck Dalor in anger, ready to bring him to the Guardians. Before they could leave the planet, the two Green Lanterns were summoned to Oa.

Before the Guardians of the Universe, Hal Jordan charged Dalor with violating his duties as a Green Lantern. Dalor and Jordan were both convinced of the rightness of their cause. To determine the truth, the Guardians ruled Dalor would be subjected to the Ritual of Endurance. If he lived, he was innocent... if he died he would be guilty. Dalor charged his power ring, but was not allowed to speak his oath until his guilt or innocence was determined.

The Guardians opened a portal in the council chamber's floor which led into a pocket of space strafed with anti-matter blasts and bolts of yellow energy. Dalor's chances of survival seemed slim. For bringing the charges against Dalor, Hal Jordan was assigned to convey news of his death to his family.

On Timron, Jordan was greeted by the inhabitants. They offered the Green Lantern a bounty which he refused. Jordan took the time to see Timron, he was surprised to see the people of Timron exchange money or objects of value for the smallest of services. Realizing that Dalor was only acting within the dictates of his culture, Jordan flew to Oa to aid the Green Lantern.

Entering the Place of Rituals, Jordan freed Dalor, dropping all charges against his fellow Green Lantern. Now out of the death trap, Dalor believed his debt was paid. Apparently out of energy, Jordan floated in the void once occupied by Dalor. A Guardian convinced Dalor he should rescue his fellow Green Lantern because, even though Jordan had made a mistake in accusing Dalor, but he should not die for it. The two realized their differences, and parted as friends.

Dalor met Jordan's successor, John Stewart of Earth and Stewart's trainer, Katma Tui of Korugar during their mission to Zamaron. The two Green Lanterns were investigating the planet in Dalor's sector to discover why some of John's memories had been wiped away through techniques similar to those the Zamarons employed. As the Green Lantern of sector 2813, Dalor assisted them in their quest. The trio arrived in time to see the coronation of Carol Ferris as Star Sapphire, the Queen of the Zamarons. Although their memories of this event were also wiped away, a previous mental command to their power rings reestablished the Zamaron erased memories.

During the so-called Crisis on Infinite Earths, Katma Tui had sought out Dalor, only to discover her friend's sector had seemingly been obliterated by anti matter. Dalor was missing, and presumed dead.

Some years later, he was part of a group of now powerless Green Lanterns rescued from an interstellar slavery ring by Guy Gardner. The former Green Lanterns were taken on a starship belonging to the Darkstars.

Dalor was interrupted by a Guardian. A GL accused of malfeasance may not speak his oath, until his guilt or innocence is determined. Perhaps Tomar-Re later returned as a trainer for Dalor and the student adopted his trainer's oath:

"And I shall shed my light over dark evil,
For the dark things cannot stand the light,
THE LIGHT OF THE GREEN LANTERN!"

'mouse note- Dalor's introduction took place during Hal's exile in space. The Guardians arranged things so Hal would bump into Dalor, and learn not to judge cultures by Earth standards. Unfortunately, it appeared he and the Guardians still do. Dalor flew back to Timron to tell his people to do good deeds not for reward, but because it is the right thing to do. First off, by their actions Hal and the Guardians have altered Timron's culture. Second, the Guardians played a part in the death of the tribal leader by subtly instigating Hal and Dalor's confrontation. Third, and possibly most important, it appeared the reward system was nothing more than a way of saying "thank you" (although with material possessions) to someone that helped you, and to encourage you to help them in the future. The people of Timron acted the way they did because they wanted to, not because they were forced to. In the 3rd series of Green Lantern, the planet Xudar in Space Sector 2813 had survived the Crisis... it is not known if Timron was as fortunate. Dalor's ring charge had a 16 jess limit (equivalent to 24 hours). For a while I had a "Whatever Happened to Dalor?" type story, involving a few Green Lanterns (Dalor and some of my own creations) who were lost during the Crisis. It was weird to see Dalor return in Guy Gardner Warrior #35.
