Unofficial BiographyTHANAGARIAN UNIFORMS

Fashion sense may not be what you think of when you hear the name Hawkman or Hawkwoman, but over the years, many have found the Hawks uniforms to be the most attractive (and the most practicle). Here is just a sampling.

The Silver Age

This is the original, the one Hawkman and Hawkwoman were first seen in back in the sixties. Hawkman in his bare chested look, Hawkwoman with the over the shoulder, tight fitting blouse and both with the feathered wings. Add on the green leggings and the bright red boots and you have the colourful heroes they are. First seen, Brave & Bold #34.

Modern Age

This one is a little more practicle. The uniform denotes they are soldiers or police officers from their home planet. The uniform is a simplistic colour scheme with enough coverage over the entire body. Even the wings have gone to a more militaristic look. First seen, Hawkworld Mini-Series #1

Post-Thanagar

After breaking away from Thanagar, both Hawkman and Hawkwoman adopted this uniform. A little more garish than what they previously wore, but it was supposed to claim they were heroes and not soldiers or stormtroopers. First seen, Hawkworld Regular Series #25.

Post-Hawkworld

Both Hawkman and Hawkwoman took on a more biker look to their uniforms in the third Hawkman series, still with the metal feathered wings of the Post-Thanagar look, however. First seen, Hawkman Third Series #1.

The Avatar

Upon becoming the Hawk-avatar, Katar Hol took on a different look. Returning to the bare chested ranks, but keeping the black jeans and the boots. The feathered wings were a part of him, and he could grow them or shrink them at his own will. First seen, Hawkman Third Series #0.

Hawkwoman

Hawkwoman took on a different look, losing the wings completely after the fiasco with the Hawk God. She looked more civilian after becoming a private investigator in Detroit. First seen, Hawkman Third Series #19.
